Couldn't resist getting this skirt, I've been wanting another maxi skirt for this lovely un-English weather and I'm a sucker for animal prints.

I've been quite busy lately, went to Leeds the other day, which was really nice, spent far too long perusing Urban Outfitters as usual! And then it's Evolution Festival coming up this Sunday, is anyone going? I'm quite excited to see Miles Kane, Noah and the Whale, Spector, deadmau5 and Benjamin Francis Leftwich, but apparently it's going to rain. I hope not. And I don't know what to wear.
SUCH DILEMMAS.

Also, I'm obsessed with a band called The Virgins at the moment. They're pretty good.

Received some nice things in the post this week, the first is this 5Preview tshirt which made me so happy, I've loved them for ages and I've been dying to get another one of their tops!

Also, my copy of prototype magazine came, it's really lovely! It's the strangest thing ever seeing yourself in print though, oh my god.

Been so busy lately, and I'm in the middle of exams but it's all good cause I'm going to Leeds next week to buy something pretty, and then it's Evolution Festival where I will be seeing my darling Miles Kane, finally. Is anyone going?

I was recently sent this top by Sugarlips Apparel, which is pretty rad cause I've been wanting a crochet top like this for ages. Anyway, they have some really lovely things on there, so check it out!

I've had Marina and The Diamonds on repeat all day, I've always really loved her but her new album has made me obsess over her on a whole new level. To the point where it's making me wear lots of pink, and earlier today I actually sat and genuinely considered dying my hair blonde. Scary thought. I WISH I WAS YOU, MARINA.

birthday

A couple of photos from my birthday yesterday, i.e. my favourite day of the year, mainly because the combination of cake and new clothes is too perfect! It was nice, I ate a lot. It never really sinks in that I've got older, I always feel the same, it's quite strange.

Oh and here's a few things I received, the shoes made me very, very happy.

illuminations on a rainy day

I meant to post this a while ago, but I'm kinda fangirling as one of my favourite bloggers drew me. Thanks to Melissa, who is better at drawing than I'll ever be.

Loathe as I am to write about the weather, I feel I have to express my HATE at the elements. Seriously, as it's freaking spring now, you'd think it'd lighten up a little?

Someone wake me up in mid-July; until then I'm perfectly happy just staying in bed and (re)watching Sofia Coppola films.

Oh and it's my birthday on Saturday. I'll be expecting truckloads of presents, you guys. No biggie.

I recently bought this playsuit and jacket/thing, it was a spur of the moment purchase, which in reality means that I had neither the money, occasion nor sense to justify buying them, but really, who am I to resist the acid-wash loveliness of spring/summer Topshop?

Some of my favourite photos from Coachella (i.e. the festival of my dreams), I love the relaxed/boho style that everyone seems to be sporting, wish I could dress like that every day! Especially love the double leopard print and dip dyed shorts. I watched all the live streams and I am so ridiculously jealous of the people who went, I'm really determined to go one day!

Also, I'm selling some clothes on ebay, such as these Levi's shorts, so PLEASE CHECK OUT/BUY MY STUFF! I'd really appreciate it, (but they are ending really soon)

i'll try anything once

I bought a dress today. It's from a vintage shop, a very small one but one of my favourite places. I saw this and I was pretty much head over heels for it, it's the kind of dress I dream about, like something Daisy Buchanan would wear to one of Gatsby's parties. It's just quite special and a bit magical, I don't really know how to describe it. So of course I had to buy it. I don't know when I'll ever wear it but I couldn't have lived if I'd gone home without it, and like with really good vintage, I always think that if you don't get something you'll probably never see it again. I guess that's my excuse to just buy more stuff really, oh well!

Oh, and happy Easter!

Eat lots of chocolate. I will.

ps. as this is my new favourite dress, I thought the post should be named after my all time favourite song, I'll Try Anything Once by The Strokes. It's the most perfect song imaginable.

Another playlist, this one's with Young Blood, which is one of my favourite songs ever. I'll have to do a playlist of my all-time favourites soon.

Anyway, the only thing making this week interesting is my discovery of a band called Tokyo Police club (where have they been all my life!) and the return of Made In Chelsea, aka the best hour of each Monday. I'm so in love with that show.

Oh and I've bought far too many band tshirts recently, I blame ebay and my scarily competitive bidding skills.

this one's different

The sun is actually out and it's warm enough to wear shorts and dresses and summer things, which I've been taking full advantage of. I recently got these dungarees, I really like dungarees as they remind me so much of Alexa Chung and the whole "girls who dress like awkward boys" thing, which is of course how I always aspire to dress! Clothes that Alexa Chung would wear = best clothes ever.

So today I went out looking for work experience, literally everyone was saying no, but luckily I'm in between an art gallery and a vintage shop, which should be lovely!

Anyway I'm off to sunbathe while I can, have a lovely week!

pulling our weight

Spending my night listening to the soundtracks from Sofia Coppola movies (Marie Antionette has to be the best) and looking at pretty black and white pictures for inspiration. There's this quote that I love: "When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls" -Ted Grant.

I haven't had the most eventful week, but somehow I don't have any time to get anything done. I honestly couldn't even say where my spare time goes, the majority of it probably vanishes somewhere in between Tumblr and eating cupcakes. Though I have to say, if you've got to waste time that's really the nicest way to do it.

I make a lot of playlists, so it was about time I got 8tracks. Sometimes I have so much music that I forget what's there, but I like to go back and rediscover songs and feel (very) mildly nostalgic, which is what I've been doing a lot recently. That and eating raspberry cupcakes and reading Fitzgerald. Perfect.

put a wetsuit on

I recently got sent this phone case by iconemesis, I actually love it cause I have an obsession with skulls and skeletons at the moment, so it's pretty much perfect! They really do have some nice cases on there, there's a Fifi Lapin one which is particularly adorable, so I recommend checking them out!

Also, have you seen this year's Reading and Leeds line up? Not as good as last year in my opinion (purely cause of The Strokes omg, wish I'd been there!) but as for the The Black Keys, The Vaccines, The Courteeners... safe to say that I am still pretty jealous of all those going! I think my favourite line up that has come out so far is definitely Coachella though, u n r e a l

I got this dress from the Love concession in Topshop, I've had my eye on it for a while but luckily it was in the sale when I was passing by, so I had to pick it up. I don't own a lot of dresses, but I really like wearing them and there's so many lovely ones coming into the shops lately, so this season I'll probably be buying more dresses and skirts than shorts. I can't really wear just dresses though, I have to wear socks and hats and things to make them look more boyish, as much as I like overly pretty/girly things, I tend not to suit them!

Also, I got my exam results back today, got an A* in everything which I was so so surprised at! I'm really pleased, and it's a good excuse to get extra easter eggs, yay. Unfortunately I've got more exams in the summer (but I'd rather not think about that!)

This is my new go-to outfit, kind of crazy that my favourite things (the bag, tshirt and hat) were all free. I don't wear this tshirt enough but it's still my one true love, as I've had it for ages and I've also had the longest obsession with 5PREVIEW clothing. Also, I made this sleeveless denim jacket recently!

Having a really busy few weeks, I dunno where all my time's going, but I'm just trying not to buy any clothes or forget about the exams that I've got coming up, argh.

Also guys, I've got to do something about my hair. It's boring boring boring at the moment, any ideas?

And I've been listening to the Arctic Monkeys new song all week, it's incredible
